The
"Asociación Amigos de los Cactus y demás Suculentas" (Association
Friends of the Cactus and other Succulents), “A.C.Y.S.”
has their headquarters in the Botanical Garden of the University of
Valencia, where every month (except August on the third Monday of
the month and at the agreed hour) we meet.
In our meetings didactic and practice
chats are carried out, experiences are exchanged, consultations are
made, we make orders of plants to national and foreign firms,
succulents are distributed, etc.
We make collective visits to cactus
nurseries of the Valencian Community, where we buy specimens to very
good prices and occasionally, we visit our partners' private
collections. We also carry out exhibitions of succulent plants in
own Botanical Garden and every year, from our foundation, we have
been present in the contest of IBERFLORA whose Executive Committee
facilitates passes to all the partners of “A.C.Y.S.”
Also, we have a library specialized in
succulent whose books circulate among the associates that personally
can pass to bring them away and return them.
We publish a quarterly “magazine” with
relating contents to cactus and succulent. |
