I am situated only a few hundred
meters from the north sea (see the landscape photo) which gives me
some quite mild winters compared to the rest of Denmark.
During the wintertime the
temperatures rarely goes below –15°C. I expect temperatures below
0°C from October until early May.
August 08 2003: The
test plants just repotted ( but the two Sclerocactus was forwarded and repotted on
April 2003)
September 09 2003:
I have bad news for you. Today I saw that one of my pediocactus grafts
was dead; All the other plants are looking very good.

Here is a picture of the winter test plant in flower. 1 of my pedio's
died last summer, so I have only tested 1. You sent me a schlerocactus
instead, so I have tested 1 pedio and 2 schlero.
I have kept them like this during the winter: 1 pedio and 1 schlero in
my unheated greenhouse. Minimum temperature -5.
and 1 schlero in the garden. Minimum temperature
-11° C
All plants look very nice now, so I think that they have made it through
the wintertime. Dan
