Hi Valentino, I am
Alessandro of the GMS, Gruppo Modenese Succulente, particularly I am
who deals with the management of the site. When you came in Modena at
GMS meeting in October, you gave me four couples of plants (Pediocactus despainii and Rebutia tiraquensis var. aguillari HS220). I
placed them in four extremely different places:
First couple
I put it together with the others my plants
(Photo1), I premise that I live in Modena city.
Second couple I put the second couple
on the same balcony but however outdoors, even if sheltered by the
balcony of the above floor. The balcony is exposed to south.
Third couple I put The third couple in
a sowing tray placed in garage, artificially illuminated
(Photo 2). For the whole winter I will keep
on treating it as if it were spring, since the temperature never
goes down under the 10 degrees (C) and it reaches 25-30 degrees when
the neon’s lighting are on (for 12 hours per day). After two months
the Pedio is almost doubled and the Rebutia has grown-up of 30%,
both without losing the characteristics of when I have received
them.
The fourth couple The fourth couple is
perhaps the more interesting. I put it at
Roccamalatina (between Guiglia and
Zocca 550 m/above sea level in Appennines Mountains)
You can see (photo 3)
where I set the plants, today I have also added the only Sclero that
I received from Nicola Mongiardo. I have put it at Roccamalatina
thinking that for the purpose of the test it furnish the most
interesting data. I don't have repotted none of the plants, till to
now (not having received the Sclero yet)
Hi again and thanks, you are doing a good work. |
