I would be very please, if I can participate on your international test.
I attended the tree photos. In the small town in Haag in Germany we would have temperatures from -25 °C in Winter and maximum in summer 38°C. The altitude would be 500m. I live in the near of the Alps, in Winter we have sometimes a lot of snow.

The test plants in their new home
      January 09 2003 Hallo Valentino! I added a photo of the potted plants in autumn. It needed some time, because I have no digital camera and the film of the camera was not yet full. In the winter we had about -12°C, but the two plants are absolutely o.k.. But it could be colder until February, we will see.  Greetings     Gerhard
