I live in Nuoro:
The view of the city is from my house in a hill
in front of it (620 m over sea level)
The house is exposed to southeast and to the right is seen the space
where I am building a great
greenhouse 3x4 ms, as you see in that tiny ones
on the table plants are very close one to each
other. Besides there are three small
“greenhouses” under the vine-trellis with the young seedlings (1-2
years).
The temperatures in winter go down at the most for about ten days of
only few degrees under zero.
The most strong (Opuntia, Echinopsis, Rebutia, Ancistrocactus,
Turbinicarpus etc.) are hold
outdoors sheltered by the rain and they withstand well, I believe
that also the Sclerocactus won't have problems. |

March 25 2004
Hi , I send you (with pride) the photos of the
three cactuses, they seem in good health and incredibly two weeks ago' I
have noticed the buds of the flowers (two each), The one outdoors is
slightly more' developed .
The Sclerocactus doesn't have flowers but it shows the new thorns.

Pedio bud just before opening |
May 27 2004 Hi,
I send the photos of the cactuses with the flowers
and after abundant watering, as you have recommended me, they are puffed
up a lot and it seems me that they burst of health.
Unfortunately the photos has been taken at the begin of April just
before I departed, so have lost the flowers in full opening, now I hope
to pick up the seeds. (from April they are still grown quite a lot) At
times however' the two Pediocactus fold up on a side, may be for my
ugly vice that I have to save with the water (only once the week) or
have the grafts become too much heavy?
