Welcome
I come from Poland, and I have been a cacti lover for 14 years now.
I own a 50 square meters greenhouse where I keep about 400 grown up cacti and about 600 seedlings various species.
My local altitude is about 65 m above the sea level. As far as i know the average winter temperature is around -5°C , but sometimes it drops bellow -15 deg C.
During the winter there is usually a medium amount of snow but it stays until spring. Spring dry from April till July. Summers are usually hot - up to 30 deg. C , usually dry during most of time, except from mid august till autumn. Autumns rather dry for most of time but couple of weeks in November.
Type of climate is moderate continental.
I admire your idea for such a test in entire Europe!
If I qualify for your test, I would like to take part in it, and report any required data  or photos during the test!

Best regards
Martin Hardyk

The tests plants in their new home
March 08 2004 Hi, The plants arrived safely and in one piece on 4th march, but since I was away skiing, I opened the parcel today. I'm going to pot them and send you a photo from their new positions soon. Both Pediocactus have already a flower buds and they are expected very much!
March 10 2004 I'm sending You a photos of plants in their new pots. Tomorrow I'm placing them into the greenhouse and one outside. Winter seems to last here for at least 2 next weeks with temperatures bellow 0 deg. C. and little of snow.  Regards Martin
April 2005

Hi !All the plants survived the winter very well! Temperatures were often well bellow -10 dg.C with lots of snow outside. Only one of the Pedio got some brown stains on its body. But now they flower very nice and are growing fast as the spring moves on.
Soon more info and photos!

Best regards
Martin
