I am highly intersected in participating in your test.
Since several years I am cultivating Pediocacti and Sclerocacti in
an
unheated small greenhouse. Other cacti ( also pedios..) are placed in
a
heated greenhouse.
The weather conditions in Hamburg/Germany are mild warm and rainy
(sometimes very rainy!!). Local altitude is 2-5 m.

December-20-2003 thank you
very much for the plants- they seem to be very strong, good roots! I
received them on Friday this week. After repotting, the new "friends"
were placed outdoor (protected from rain) and in my heated greenhouse
(about
8-10° Celsius). Attached are 2 new pictures of the potted cacti.

2004 Dear Valentino,
the winter is gone , spring is coming - even in Hamburg!
Pediocactus despainii and Sclerocactus glaucus placed in my small
unheated greenhouse are doing well. P. despainii has some nice buds and
will flower soon. Scl. glaucus begins to grow. Lowest temperature was
-7°C, no water during the winter, first watering 25. March.
P. despainii placed in my heated greenhouse is flowering since 15.
April. Lowest temperature +6°Celsius, no water during the winter, first
watering 1.March.
