  Spring is one of the four seasons of temperate zones. The season of the year during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive: The season of growth;  
     
The season of the year between winter and summer when plants begin to vegetate and growth.; Most flowering plants bring forth leaves and flowers this time of year.
It begins with the spring equinox (around March 21 in the Northern Hemisphere, and September 23 in the Southern Hemisphere), and ends with the summer solstice (around June 21 June) It runs from March to May in the Northern Hemisphere, and from September to November in the Southern Hemisphere.
Spring is the season when snow (if any) begins to melt, In normally snowless areas, "spring" may begin as early as February, in subtropical zones the differences are very subtle, and in tropical ones none at all. In the subarctic areas spring can wait until May or even June, or December in the subantarctic

  (1) Occurring in, relating to, or characteristic of the season of spring: vernal.
 
 
(2) Growing in the season of spring, e.g. spring flowers.
