Cactus chimaera cristata (from Aztekia)

This is a very odd and sought after cactus.
It considered by some a chimaera and by others a monstrous form or hybrid of an unidentified species.

Description: This controversial plant has baffled any attempt of classification. It was originally sold by the cactus nursery Aztekia with the provisional name “Cactus chimaera forma cristata”, but the evidences for confirming this classification are limited and can be considered only a starting point for further investigation. Actually the species from which this plant originates is still mysterious and there is not any shared hypothesis. This unique and original plant is anyway very graceful and sought after by cactus collectors.
