Propagation:
Propagation: Seeds, graft or (rarely) cuttings if
available. Seeds can be sown in the spring. The seedlings
should not be disturbed until they are well rooted after which
they can be planted separately in small pots.
Pests &
diseases: Lobivia
famatimensis is especially
prone to rot, therefore,
underpot in a
smaller container filled with very
porous compost. Cultivation:
Very slow growing. Because of the tap root
they are very
susceptible
to
over-watering, sometimes are
grafted to avoid
root
rot problems., so use highly gritty compost with much drainage
and water regularly in summer, but do not overwater, it prefer a completely
dry place during winter. An unheated greenhouse would
be perfect. It can survive low temperatures (appr. -7°C).
Suited for
sunny-brightly exposure; can
tolerate
light shade.
