The common speech is the
native speech or language as spoken or written by the inhabitants of
a country or locality. Everyday language as used everyday by
ordinary people. |

The common languages are the languages actually spoken by a group
of people, as distinguished and often in contrast from scientific,
technical or literary languages.
For examples the common (vulgar, vernacular) name for a
plant
species in contrast
with the
scientific names used in
taxonomy.
