Rugose [ Botany ]

  A surface feature that can be found on many organs of a plant.  Referring to a rough or bumpy surface of a plant part. Covered with coarse lines or furrows.  
 
The word rugose derives from the Latin adjective “rugosus” meaning  “wrinkled, shrivelled”
