Silique  (Siliqua)  [ Botany ] Dictionary of botanic terminology - index of names
     
  It is a  many-seeded dry dehiscent fruit (a type of capsule) found in the Brassicaceae family.  
     
Silique derives from a superior ovary of two carpels and with 2 parietal placentas connected by a false septum, usually at least 3 times longer than broad. with parietal seeds attached to a central partition, either half of the siliqua  peels away from a central, transparent, dividing membrane.
