Synonyms: New, Juvenile, Immature. 
     
  Used of living things (especially plants and animals) in an early period of life or development or growth.  
     
The term young is used to indicate a juvenile animal or plant before complete maturity, having youthful freshness, yet undeveloped. Young also indicates a new or immature  organs or part in an early stage of development that needs to be left to age for subsequent development. "young leaves"; "young stems" etc.
