  The usually eye-catching colourful part of a flower: the petals and petaloid.  
     
From Latin "corolla" =  little crown
 
The corolla (the petals ) is contained between the calyx and the stamens and pistil. The collective group of petals may occur separately or fused into a cup, tube or other structure
Together with the Calyx, it forms the perianth.
