  Remaining attached to the plant, even if shrunken, beyond the expected time of falling until the part that bears it is fully matured  
     
For example: of sepals not falling after flowering,  of a leaf base, remaining attached to the plant after the leaf or frond has been shed or  floral remnants persisting on a ripe fruit.

Compare with: Accrescent, Caducuous, Deciduous, Deliquescent, Fugacious, Marcescent
