Description: Strongly spined cactus, usually solitary.
Stem:
Globular to
cylindrical,
oblong,
solitary. 8 - 10 cm in diameter, up to 15 cm high.
Epidermis: Dark green.
Spines: Very strong, stiff and impressive, up to 4-5cm long.
Cultivation:
Summer grower, water regularly in
summer, keep rather dry in
winter.
Grows well in
full sun or
light shade.
