Identifying the species of an Echinofossulocactus is as difficult as
identifying the genus is easy. For the most part, they tend to look
alike, and there are far more names than there are species.
Description:
Usually solitary cacti.
Stem: Globular whit green epidermis
Ribs: Approximately 30, thin with very
undulated or curled
ridges.
Radial spines: 7, of them 4 the weaker and smaller, others 3 (or
2) upper to 3 cm long, round or (the central) wide.
Central spines: 1, about 2,5 cm long, light brown.
Flowers: White, with the carmine central strips.
E. anfractuosus
is a synonym of
E. crispatus.
The plant found in cultivation are quite variable, and the
dissimilarity among seedlings spination may be considerable.

Cultivation: Small growing and easy to to care
in normal and very drained
cactus compost and very willing to flower,
Because of it’s small size makes a
great potted plant specimen, great for beginning collectors, water
sparingly and allow to dry between watering, needs good drainage.
Watering should be curtailed during the winter months. Full sun but is
tolerant and prefers light shade during the hot Summer months. And
provide very good
ventilation. Frost Tolerance:
does not tolerate intense or prolonged cold (hardy to -5°C if kept dry

(usually) or by the shoots of adult plants.
