  Club-shaped. Elongated, narrowing toward the base and gradually thickened or expanded toward the apex.

Used in botany to describe the shape of plants parts gradually becoming expanded at the distal end.
(usually referring to clavate stem or clavate fruit)

Compare with: Obclavate (inversely clavate)
