  A locule is a more or less closed compartment, cavity, or chamber within a cell, or an organ or part of a plant.  
     
For examples:
In an ovary: A locule is the cavity containing the ovules.
In an anther: A locule is the compartment that contains the pollen.
In a fruit: A locule is a chamber or cavity of a fruit.
